Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Macro Monday

It's flowers for me as well.  There are times they can take your mind somewhere else very quickly.  Took these the 25th out back.  It's not like the high country but the first picture of  Paintbrush for sure and maybe the last one can be found here on the plains as well.  Blue is my color but this red is hard to beat.

Sunday Stills First Time Out

Was going to use the Stones because very recently was around way too many gem stones and such but thought of the song "Two Lane Highway"  and pulled out several and all are windshield shots. Sometimes it works most of the time not so much.  We take pictures of anything here anyway. Thanks for the visit. OF

You can click on the pictures twice here and make them bigger each time for a real good look.

Does this look like Wyoming.
There is a hill in South Dakota. It was the unusual cloud that this got taken.

You remember Forrest Gump I'm sure.

Well west of Craig,CO heading east. You may think it's almost like Wyoming. It is.
Craig,Co  again with 50 more miles to go to arrive at Da Boat that you can see in the distance.

Here's the song and it still lives today because it's that good. It's all like a moving picture these two-lane highways.

It's A Frog - - But

This is a Gray Tree Frog not uncommon at all.  It was new to me though and had never seen a frog with suction cup feet either. These cooperated so well was able to get some real good shots.

In addition these frogs change color like chameleons but not as quickly. You can see the difference in color with the two above and these two below.

It's not a big deal but I sure enjoyed seeing these animals like this. The only frogs I remember were leopard and bull frogs as a kid.

The End Of A Mountain Range

This is Greenhorn Mountain and has an elevation of 12,352 feet. It's named for this.
From Wiki-
The name comes from a name Cuerno Verde (Green Horn) given by the Spanish of the Provincias Internas to two, father and son, Jupe Comanche band mahimiana paraibo or war chiefs. The younger Cuerno Verde was known to the Comanches as "Man Who Holds Danger." On September 3, 1779 younger Cuerno Verde, along with his son, medicine man, 4 principal chiefs and 10 of his warriors, was killed near the Greenhorn Mountain by the men of the expedition of Spanish troops and native American allies (Apache, Ute and Pueblo) under Juan Bautista de Anza.

Also Greenhorn is at the end of a small mountain range called the Wet Mountains.

A  saved Google image that shows the Wet mountain range that extends from Canyon City to here. The pictures are taken looking west and is what I see where everyday.
