Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Just Saying

Here in Costa Rica wages are not high with two bucks an hour being somewhat the norm. It seemed odd that people didn't make much but everyone was spending it.

I spoke to an expat who has been coming here for some ten years who told me about how things had changed during that time and particularly in the last four or five. It's simple - credit cards. Even granny the 90 year old matriarch of the Tican family he's been staying with most of the time was solicited no questions asked with a card and a 3,000,000 line of credit ($6000).

A day or two after that conversation this piece came out in the ticotimes.net.

Are Ticos getting hooked on credit cards?

After asking some more questions the answer is most certainly yes. The banks are flooding this country with credit. Credit Costa Rican's have never had before.

It's unfortunate and when the bill comes due for many it will not be a good day.

Just saying!

A Left And A Right

A left and a right jab from Minou then work him into the corner and two more lefts just to remind Ripette the hierarchy around this place. Those are bird nests the cat is playing with at the beginning.

You Tube Google And Me

UPDATE #2: 3/22 I have the channel back to the way it was. It wasn't that hard but it's stressful in the sense that you could lose all that you put into it.

UPDATE: They are back and viewable.

For the second time I have lost my You Tube account so no videos below will play.

I got it back last time and I would be devastated if I did not this time.

This annoys me and is toooo stressful. It is hard to find the correct avenue to contact them. This happened when I found not by choice to have been "up graded" to Google +. For several reasons I do not want this and when I tried to go back to just plain old Google my YTube account and channel "OneFlyOnly" was gone. I can still see it but of course nothing plays and it's inaccessible.

This is a real clean place but have to add a huge damn it anyway!

A Dance For The President

I thought this was real nice too.

Laura Chinchilla The President Of Costa Rica

7/30/16 Says there's supposed to be a couple pictures but there are none. Don't know where they went. Cyberspace probably.

She came to the new school just up the road and I went to the dedication late this morning. I like this lady and so did everyone here. The kids were just great. I'm glad I got to see this.

I will have some things later but wanted to put this up because it just happened and I get a kick outta stuff like this.

This is a picture blog and it needs to be said the pictures I took today were not very good at all and the video not much better. This was two of the better ones.

So it was a good day in Atenas for this guy!

A Bus Ride

The other day rode with a friend from Atenas to a town called Grecia via Alajuela where you get on a a different bus. I'm guessing 25 to 30 miles.

Click on the picture to hugen them up.

We caught the bus for Alajuela on the highway at a bus stop. You end up in a bus station but the other bus for Grecia is several blocks away.

There was little waiting but that's not always the case as you might imagine.

In Grecia like many places there is the town square which is a park as well.

School has started and there school kids of all ages a lot of places. I'm not sure when the hours are and all have some sort of uniform.

You knew there was going to be a church some place along the way.

Got inside this one and it was pretty cool. Of course the back is my hang out and I this was a funeral. I did not know that and left. After that the doors were closed.

Here are some street scenes looking into the hills outside town.

The geography was a bit different than here in that there was more ground that was easier to work as it was not as hilly/mountainous.

Grecia is noted for a very good farmers market. I believe it as local market at the bus station was impressive!
I would not ride a bus to go to the market as it takes several hours and in the end most of the day. The trip cost about $5 or so.
