Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Pictures From Today 5/23

Out in the middle of nowhere. That is the east fork of the Williams Fork river on the county lines of Routt and Moffat.
There was no way to see a date and has been here a long time.
This is at the Pagoda cemetery just down the road. There are several other pictures here. ( a couple pictures are missing and don't know why but leaving the link up anyway) Not a bad place to be interned at all.
This is yours by the way.
So is this.
Not this but it's on the boundary of the BLM andYampa River bottom in Moffat county.
This cemetery is in Craig. Had not been here before.

There will be more of pictures like this that will be much better. They are from where I grew up and you can check it out here. It's actually worth watching because at times they are not too kind about religion. It's a place for some very interesting pictures although many have a religious theme.
Same place. Note the power plant. This is coal and gas country more so than oil but there is that too.
This is another plant in Hayden less than twenty miles east.
More Yampa river bottom just east of Hayden.
Now don't be afraid. Not a good picture at all and most of the above are nothing special that is for sure. It was bland outside without much sun.
Just look at the size of this a thing. You just never know what you're going to run across.

Vandalism Sometimes

It seemed in some places there was quite a bit of trash in Pintado Canyon. Not everywhere but where the younger locals went to party. That's where I would have been.

Zoom in on this as it's hard to see. It was more writing and not carving that was prevalent. Bad in places but overall a cool place to explore without question.
Then there's the gun issue which was bad in places as well. Both types was much worse than the last time I visited this area.

I am glad I saw this before some shit had to destroy this lament to a beautiful women. Nicely done-not that old but real art as well.
These are called carrot men for obvious reasons.

Look real close for a bit of blue.

Sun Search Success

Less than a hundred miles down the road the elusive orb was found and warmth was had.

Same place as last week but saw a lot of other things and different campsite.

This field was so pretty the picture doesn't capture that.

The basic two holer with a pretty fancy door. Probably would still serve the purpose quite well.

Just about home and if you have this much snow around this time of year the weather is just a different breed of cat that is for damn sure.

It's time to move on sooner than later.

Pintado Canyon And It's Rock Art

This is a great place to explore. Here is the link if you'd like to learn a bit more about the area.

These are supposed to be General Crook's horses.

These are strange creatures for sure and the different angles seem to me to give them even more life if that's possible.

I think I like the one below a bit better.

Good old Trapezoid Boy even though you can't see him too good. I don't give a crap what anyone says these figures in this shape with what appears to be dials on their chests with antenna as well --- you're thoughts are your own but for me I want a ride.

Remember that these can be clicked twice to make them bigger each time for a real good look.

More Western Colorado From Weekend 5/8/10

All these picture are from the immediate campsite  except for the first two that were taken at the history museum in Vernal,UT. They have a new building but I liked the old maybe a bit better because the exhibits that were located outside there were locates among a lot of trees and it seemed very lifelike but this was nice as well.

These are located close buy and are impressive. Once again these are Fremont 900 to 1100 years of age.

The one below I kind of like because it reminded me of the dinosaurs I saw in Vernal.

Having a hard time adding text to this and need to finish. The yellow flower under the tree is out of focus and all of them were and it's too bad because it was a great combination of color and lighting.

Surprised the white flower in the road could live there and saw others like that as well. It's pretty harsh out here. The rest are just what they are.
