Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Art On The Rocks

Did this two weeks ago. Fun trip and these things were impressive. I was around this area (one way in one way out) for five hours or so and on the way out saw a car.

From My Window

I'm lucky to have so many different views from my window. There are many more better than this. Just haven't got to them yet.

Will be back with a bit of text but gotta go now.

Have not tired of seeing these animals no matter what time of year it may be.
Several resident coyotes. I think they get hungry during winter.

Clouds hang like this any time of the year. What it means is the day before has been wet or colder than usual.

This is an icon for Steamboat Springs. it's called Sleeping Giant and is 13 miles away as the crow flies .
I have never seen a picture quite like this. Of course it's corrupted by houses and lines but still a cool picture. I did not take this but my camera was used and if I'm in the shop the camera is there as well. This oportunity was there for just a very short time.

Places We've Been

I bought this vehicle fairly early this spring and have gone camping six times and gone for other rides as well. These pictures are examples of places from extreme NW Colorado to the SE of the state we have been. You may have seen some of these before.

Eventually as we move into the colder months there won't be much camping going on but intend to to something like a report/critique of how this vehicle has performed the good and bad. It's more good at this point for sure.

Would also like to add that this is the first post made since getting the computer back and it's the first time I've been able to upload pictures without 40-50% failure in doing so and I like that and hope it stays this way.

Also I'm in the process of categorizing my pictures which at this time there are maybe 25 and it takes a long time as some need to go several places. That will take a very long time.

I hope you enjoy some of these which are basically landscape pictures but I like the way this Element fits in. Something about the design that says it was supposed to be there.

I'll Miss This

Some of the best fishing I've ever had has been at this place. There's another spot that rivals this but this is my favorite. The other place is hard and dangerous for me alone. This spot is very easy with levels like these. We're talking give or take 150 in an afternoon. Of course not every time but it happens. Have to say myself there's a fair amount of action here and I can't tell you enough how much fun it is to see these fish come up after a dry fly and you can see that pretty well in this. It just doesn't get much better! Watch closely.

Mostly rainbows and they don't get much bigger than this. Next time you go it might be all brookies and you can catch a cutthroat if you're lucky. The other place you can get the other one which is a brown and when that happens that's way too cool.

A Few From Today

Went for a short ride as it took me a long time to get organized this morning. In any case ran across a couple things.

I like this one but the one at the top of the page tomorrow is the same guy but may be the best dragonfly picture I've ever taken. 95% of these end up deleted plus don't have many red one so that's good.

Then this fellow walked out onto the road. Pretty good size and didn't have a care in the world. Was still a ways away so this isn't very good. But cool to see for sure.

I put this in because this table sits in a small park on state land that was put together by county employees back 27 years ago. Still usable and the place has been mowed. I'd rather federal funds be made available to keep things like this up rather than keeping up our wars around the world. Know what mean there sapphire.

These guys are real working horses not pets most have around here. They just have the day off is all.

Saturday August 2010

Here are a few pictures from today except for the first two which are from Friday. The first one was taken a little after 6AM and may be the best one of the bunch. If not the last one could be pretty good but it's hard to tell. Didn't do well today and even accidentally deleted a video of a small rainbow taking my fly.

Some of these can't be good for the simple fact that beetle kill is just plain ugly.

The landscape pictures are taken above the Colorado River at Radium.

End of July 2010 Colorado& Utah

It was a great weekend for camping and a bit of exploring. The weather couldn't have been much better. Here are some of the things seen.

Remember you can click  on these twice to make them huge.

I like this picture. There was a 360 view from here and I came back and stayed a second night. It's a bit trashed out and I can live with that.
Incredible evening and the stars were amazing as well.

You may have seen this before. Pintado Canyon. Carrot men 12 miles south of Rangely.

A horned toad. Drove right over him. Did know what it was and went back. He was good size. There will be a video up sometime at OTC and here as well.

In the town of Dinosaur. Where's Mama antelope?

I took a bunch of these and happy I came away with the few half decent ones that I did. Really different and I am tempted to go back to try again because these were so interesting and didn't do well at all.

This is not Mama.

Prairie dogs are no where close to being extinct

Taken at the cemetery in Meeker,CO.

This just happens to be the size gun my Dad used during WWII. 105MM  This is in the cemetary in Meeker as well.
