Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Trinidad

Trinidad is a new place for me and here are a few pictures from a couple weeks ago. I like much of the downtown architecture and the color of the brick in the buildings and in the streets. You may have seen several of these before. Pictures are illustrative and have been tweaked a little bit as another time when results weren't too good.

Some time in the near future the Savoy Cafe and the Trinidad Lounge are getting a visit for sure. I've only heard of places with Savoy in their name.  That word holds a bit of romanticism for me. Maybe the food will be the best ever. A guy can only hope ya know.

Click on the picture to hugen them up twice if you want.

  1. I've not spent any time there, but always been intrigued by the architecture and photo opps. This all looks like a fun time. The Fox is still going strong it looks, as that's a fairly new film, I believe, and Skateland probably, too. I never could get the hang of it. I kept wanting to push off like in ice skating instead of rolling into the movement. Having a beer on a hot afternoon at the Trinidad Lounge... sounds like a good way to spend one.

  2. Thanks Teresa. A beer will be had sometime. The KC's would take us catholic kids over to this town to roller skate. All I wanted was to go around the other way because I wanted to fall on the other side for awhile because the one side hurt so bad. never liked it and I have real good balance. Same thing with ice skates but then there's the winter side of that that I hated anyway.

  3. Really good pictures. Never been to Trinidad, must go there sometime. Love the narrow streets and the houses. The colors, in the lounge picture, are fun and makes a person just wanna come in for a beer. We have a Savoy here in KC...so I know what you mean. Good job!

  6. Let's do the Savoy's TMoon. Next chance I get I'll give it a try and report back.

Hi Suzan - good to hear from you. You probably know and it very possible some of the people who live in Key West have maybe visited Trinidad because until a few years ago it was known as the "sex change capitol of da world".

I liked that too Linda. Riding in Pueblo today a house caught my eye and I was just looking and the owner came over and talked to me. He told me it was the oldest house on the south side of the Arkansas in Pueblo coming in at 141 years old. He was in the process of painting (huge job} and I didn't take a picture. It was very warm. I will go back It had a rectangular half length beveled door. He told me there was not many fine features inside. I will try to find that house in Trinidad again - I have a pretty good idea and look in the windows just for the hell of it.

  7. is it me, or does any one else think he took a lot of pictures of buildings that serve alcohol? :-)

Towns like these are time capsules of what America once looked like.
    Never to be seen again.
