Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Macro Monday

UPDATE
I forgot to mention the black spiders are "jumpers" are are aggressive like another type I've seen and will charge quickly and back off just as fast to intimidate it's predators I'm sure.

Sitting outside yesterday there are a number of these around. I'm glad he was not on me.

This fellow was in the cup holder where I was sitting.

There was one of these in the cup holder as well.  This was taken before the other two showed up.

Two weeks ago took this picture. Not very good because he would not pose. Notice the color.  Is that blue?
The same spider and it has florescent running lights.

The two pictures below were ones I was going to use for yesterdays Sunday Stills but they work good today too. Although you can't really see it here these insects have florescence sprinkled around on them. You can kind of see that  in the picture below  in front of the right wing.

This is what I like about Blogger is the ability to make the picture larger by clicking on them. If your lucky to get close enough and get it in focus which is the hard part you then have a picture that provides tremendous detail and that's where the fun is for me.

The big guy was on his way out and I'm holding the little one by the tail.  If it weren't for that I  might still be out there because they don't cooperate very well.  There's some dragon fly's around here and they have been very elusive.

  1. I'd like to have a pair of shades like the bug in your cover photo.

    1. I use what is getting pretty old now a Pentax point and shoot Optio W60. Even my first digital W30 did as well.

The reason I am able to capture many of the shots I do is because of the size of the camera.

I look at some of the pictures every once in awhile and am taken aback occasionally. "I took that". Anybody can accomplish the same.

I suggest that one consider a camera like this for macro. I am told that Pentax is noted for their lens's. I was very close for most of these. I have to have a small camera because of where I go and the things I do. A friend continually tells me to take this particular type of support pole and I tell him no because it will be in the way. I carry a tripod - small one but seldom use it.

The down side is that places who accept pictures that possibly can be sold will not accept pictures from cameras like this. If I were carrying a large camera many of these would not have been gotten.

      Thanks for that Ed!

    1. You can kinda see that in their eyes but something happens when you take a picture. Like being able to see an animals eyes at night maybe.
